Human Massage: From an early age, Shauna has had an intimate understanding of the human body, studying form and movement as an artist from the 7th grade through college. She started studying massage in horses from the age of ten.
As a client of the founder of the Bodymechanics School of Myotheratpy and Massage; Robert Haase LMP; she traded massage for riding lessons and after receiving both professional massage and student massage at the school it wasn't long before the students started asking her to teach them what she had been learning. Shauna became a student of Bodymechanics so that she could become licensed and share this information with future students.
Shauna became the only apprentice to date to the famous Robert Haase LMP and traveled all over the country teaching advanced techniques to massage therapists, chiropractors, and physical therapists with the Bodymechanics founder in his continuing education courses.
Shauna specializes in deep tissue/ injury treatment/ sports massage but also performs relaxation/ swedish massage, and of course, horse massage (see below).
Horse Massage: Shauna brings 26 years of experience in the field of equine studies including everything from farrier sciences, professional grooming, professional horse training and riding lessons, as well as showing in many different disciplines and breeds.
Shauna was the Executive Director of Equine Studies at the Bodymechanics School of Myotherapy and Massage in Olympia Washington. Shauna wrote the large animal massage curriculum, and was the only instructor teaching the Large Animal massage at Bodymechanics.
Shauna's intimate understanding of horses allows her to quickly troubleshot horse pain and dysfunction so that she can successfully get horse and rider working together again. Her travels with famous Robert Haase LMP have made her an exceptional massage therapist for difficult to diagnose humans, making the horse and rider team massage indispensible.
